This form of learning is mostly used by old time musicians or persons who like to make up music on the spot. It can be very entertaining, and is best used by persons who tend to process information by air. The main disadvantage with this method is that the musician would first have to hear the music being played before he is able to reproduce it.

By Chord Theory : This method incorporates a combination of the two methods mentioned before. Hence the individual would be able to read classical sheet music for example, but can improvise to add their own harmony, feel and tune to a particular sheet music.
